Do you know about the beautiful Luzzu? With it’s beautiful bright colours and the eyes of Osiris that protect the fishermen out at sea, they are an icon on the island of Malta.
To me this fishing boat takes me right back to my childhood! My Aunty Rita and Uncle Leli used to have me over during the summer breaks where I would spend my days swimming and being by the sea in Qawra. I had the privilege of seeing my uncle coming to shore with lengths of brightly coloured nets filled with all sorts of fish!
My cousin and I used to watch in awe at everyone helping to unroll the nets and filling buckets with fish! The smell of the sea used to fill the air!
The best part was the bbq in the evening, the community got together and everyone sat around eating this fresh catch …. us kids used to carry on swimming until it was time for bed!
I feel so privileged to have had this as part of my childhood! Some of my fondest memories of a carefree life!
This premium quality small olive wood tapas charcuterie board has been hand painted by me. It has a rustic life edge leaving a beautiful bark along the sides. The beautiful grain of olive wood follows the tortuous way the trees grow. It is hard wearing and with a little care will last a lifetime. Added to this it has natural anti-bacterial properties.

Buying handmade also means you are buying products that are unique. Items will look similar to the image but never the same. Every tile pattern is designed by me, these can be personalised subject to availability. There may be imperfections which are visible as well as stripped paint, lumps and bumps on the surface which make the designs have an old look rustic effect which is integral and unique to my art.
