About
Trays like this have carried tea across Morocco and the wider Mediterranean for generations — a teapot, small glasses, something sweet alongside — long before they became something people simply admire. Morocco is my own reading of that shared tile history, tracing the same geometry and colour found in Maltese courtyards, built into a pattern that’s entirely mine rather than a copy of any one tile.
I tiled my own hallway in this same Morocco pattern, so I know it well beyond a single piece — this tray is where it moves onto something you’ll actually use daily. It’s a proper size, generous enough to carry a full tea service or breakfast for two, and just as happy leaning against a wall as a piece of art when it’s not in use.
The base is hand-painted in loose, visible strokes before the Morocco pattern is set and sealed in food-grade resin, giving the surface real depth rather than a flat print. Because that base is made by hand, no two trays are ever quite identical — each one carries its own brushwork, the way a piece you keep for years should.
It makes an easy gift for exactly that reason — a housewarming present, a wedding or anniversary gift that gets used at breakfast rather than left in a drawer, or something to buy yourself simply because you want tea to feel like a small occasion.
Hand Crafted
Buying handmade also means you are buying products that are unique. Items will look similar to the image but never the same. Every tile pattern is designed by me, and these can be personalised subject to availability. There may be visible imperfections, as well as stripped paint, lumps and bumps on the surface, which give the design its old, rustic look — integral and unique to my art.
Unless specified, your item will be similar to the one pictured but never exact, as most items are made to order.
