Painting hand Painted Mgarr Malta church Charcuterie Oak Wood Board 33 x 20cm
A tribute to one of Malta’s most striking village churches, this oak charcuterie board features a genuinely hand-painted rendering of Mgarr’s parish church, its great dome and twin bell towers brought to life in fine, considered brushwork sealed beneath a food-safe resin finish.
Made in the Bonnymia studio by Mia Anastasi Sammut
The story
Solid oak provides the canvas for this hand-painted Mgarr church scene, each stroke applied by hand before being sealed under a durable, food-safe resin surface. Famously built with the help of the villagers themselves and fondly known as the “Egg Church”, Mgarr’s parish church is one of Malta’s most loved landmarks. It’s a piece that speaks to a love of Mediterranean style home decor and of Malta’s own heritage, bringing the character of a much-loved village church into a board meant for gathering and sharing.

Handmade, and proud of it
Because this piece is hand-painted from start to finish, small variations in brushwork and tone are part of its charm rather than a flaw. No two paintings are ever quite identical, each one a genuine, one-of-a-kind piece.
